 Opening of the PCEM course at the ECO-IEST

The Post Graduate Certificate on Environmental Management (PCEM), the first training course of the ECO Institute of Environmental Science and technology (ECO-IEST) was inaugurated on Sunday 12 September. Representatives from Afghanistan, Georgia, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Sudan, Tajikistan, Thailand, and Turkey are participating in the course.

  The ECO-IEST first educational programme, a Postgraduate Certificate on Environmental Management (PCEM) invites experts who work in governmental agencies in the ECO region and rest of the World, to apply.  



 Eighteen cheetahs to be imported from Iran, Namibia and South Africa to India

Indian minister for the environment and forests, Jairam Ramesh, has picked three sites for the reintroduction of the animal within a year. Eighteen cheetahs are to be brought from Iran, Namibia and South Africa. A budget of over £500,000 has been made available to prepare the sites for their release.



 Madagascar site for children now in Farsi

Mongabay announced the availability of the Madagascar site for children in Farsi (Persian). Special thanks to Hamidreza Rastegar for his efforts. The Madagascar site for children is now available in German, Spanish, French, Croatian, Slovak, Farsi, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Ukrainian, and English.
